Block level statistics keep the records of infrastructural development of different sectors of the Development Blocks and functioning in coordination with the Directorate of Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Assam. In Dibrugarh District there are seven (7) nos. Development Blocks namely-(i) Lahoal Development Block, (ii) Barbaruah Development Block, (iii) Khowang Development Block, (iv) Tingkhng Development Block, (v) Joypur Development Block, (vi) Tengakhat Development Block, (vii) Panitola Development Block etc.
The office of the Deputy Director of Economics & Statistics collects the Block level statistics mainly Block Quarterly Progress Report & Block Annual Progress Report (Part-I & Part-II) and prepare ‘At A Glance’ every year as per schedules supplied by Directorate of Economics & Statistics and submitted the reports to the Directorate of Economics & Statistics for state level compilation and publication etc.
(i) Block Quarterly Progress Report :
Data such as staff position of the Development Block Offices, Agriculture Sector, Animal Husbandry, Village and Small Industries, Public Health and Rural Sanitation, Health and Family Welfare, Rural Development Scheme, Fishery, Irrigation, Land Reclamation & Improvement etc. are collected from Block Development Offices as per schedule supplied by the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Assam and submitted to the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Assam for compilation and publication etc.
(ii) Block Annual Progress Report (Part-I & Part-II) :
In this report Development Blocks provide the data relating to Co-operation, Health and Rural sanitation, Education, Social Education. Woman Program, Construction (Road & House), Panchayati Raj, Land Utilization Statistics (crop, area & irrigation), Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Fishery etc as per schedule supplied by the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Assam and submitted to the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Assam for compilation and publication.
(iii) Block At A Glance Report :
Every year data on population, Agriculture (LUS), Livestock & Veterinary, Education, Health, Water Supply, Roads, Co-operation, Panchayat and Rural Development, Village & Small Industries, Sericulture and Weighing, Social Welfare are collected to prepare ‘Block At A Glance’ and submitted to the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Assam for compilation and publication etc.
