About us

  • Zila Sainik Board, Dibrurgarh was established in the year 1978 vide GOA letter No. FEB.95/77/40 dated 06.03.78 with the aim to assist the State Government to execute the various welfare programme for Ex-Servicemen and their dependents of the district of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia. Initially posts of a Secretary, one UDA, three LDAs, one Office Peon and one Chowkidar were created for the Board vide letter No. GAG.136/84/12 dated 19.10.84 which at a later stage have permanently sanctioned against ZSB Dibrugarh vide letter RSB.149-A/IV/123 dated 21 Feb 1991. The post of Secretary has been re-designated as “Zila Sainik Welfare Officer” vide GOA letter No. 73/82/Pt-I/64 dated 22.09.92. With effect from 01 Oct 2015 the office of the Welfare Organiser, Tinsukia district has been made functional with a Welfare Organiser. Zila Sainik Welfare Office functions under the Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Govt of Assam.  The area of jurisdiction of Zila Sainik Welfare Office, Dibrugarh are limited to Dibrugarh and Tinsukia district.
