The Industrial Statistics data mainly relating to - (i) Annual Survey of Industry (ASI) which is related to profit and loss of the Industries and Labor Wages, (ii) Index of Industrial Production (IIP) of the District, by collecting Monthly Production Data (MPD) in respect of some selected Industrial units, (iii) Tea Statistics which is collected from required Tea Gardens and (vi) Statistics on Strikes & Lock-out in respect of Industries/ Factories.
(i) Annual Survey of Industries (ASI):
ASI is the basic tool to collect required data from Industrial units selected for the survey. ASI at present has two parts. Part-I of ASI is processed by the CSO (Central Statistical Office), Kolkata and Part-II of ASI processed by NSSO (National Sample Survey Office) (FOD) (Field Operation Division) and the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Assam. Again, a section of Part-II is processed by Deputy Director of Economics & Statistics, Dibrugarh.
ASI Schedules mainly contains two parts, Part-I & Part-II. Part-I of ASI schedule aims to collect data on assets and liabilities, employment and labour cost, receipts, expense, inputs items(indigenous and imported products) and by products, destructive expense etc. Part-II of ASI schedules aim to collect data on different aspects of labour statistics namely working days, man days worked, labour turn over, man-hours worked and social security benefits etc.
A list of 41 nos. of Industries to conduct the Survey for the year 2016-17 has been received from the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Assam and the letters has been dispatched to collect the same to the concern factories/ Industries of the district of Dibrugarh.
(ii) Index of Industrial Production (IIP):
Index of Industrial Production reflects the status of Industrial growth of the district. For this purpose MPD (Monthly Production Data) are collected from selected Industries as per list of Industries provided by Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Assam. There are 16 nos. of Industries from where MPD have to be collected for the year, 2017-18.
Some of the Industries have been submitting the reports on MPD on regular basis and the same reports have been being submitted to the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Assam monthly and regularly for constructing the IIP of the District as well as the IIP of the state as a whole. Non-response and non-cooperation from the Industries part becoming an regular problem while constructing IIP either in the District or in State level.
The O/O The Deputy Director of Economics & Statistics, Dibrugarh has submitted 6 nos. of report on MPD to the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Assam for the month of July, 2018.

(iii) Tea Statistics:
Tea is the major plantation crop of the Dibrugarh District. There are 177 nos. of Tea Gardens in the District of Dibrugarh covering 115534 hect. of cultivation area. Dibrugarh District produced 259204 kg of made tea in 2014 which is almost 42% of the total production in Assam. The Average Production is 2243.5 kg/hect. for the year 2014. There are 19160 nos. of Small Tea Growers in Dibrugarh District and Registered Area is 15433.77 hect. in 2014-15 (As per Statistical Hand Book, Assam 2017).
The Annual Returns on the Tea Statistics the registered Tea Estates collects and prepare the consolidated reports on area, production and average number of workers in respect of Tea Statistics.
The office of the Deputy Director of Economics & Statistics, Dibrugarh collects the Annual Return on Tea Statistics from the registered Tea Gardens and Prepare the consolidated reports on the same and submit to the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Assam. The consolidated report on Tea Statistics has been submitted to the Directorate of Economics & Statistics up to 2015 and collection of Annual Returns for the year 2016 and 2017 is going on.
(iv) Strike and Lockout :
The report on Stoppage/ Gheraous (Strike & Lockout) are collected from Assistant Labour Commissioner Office, Dibrugarh and submitted the consolidated report to the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Assam on monthly basis.
